Who we are
CPT Tours ("we", "us") operates cpttours.co.za and provides private tours and transfers in Cape Town, South Africa. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and how we handle it, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and the GDPR where applicable.
What we collect
- Booking details — when you book a tour or transfer we collect your name, email address, phone number, preferred date, group size, pickup location, and any special requests you include. We use these solely to arrange and manage your booking and to contact you about it.
- WhatsApp communication — if you contact us via WhatsApp, your messages are handled by WhatsApp/Meta under their own privacy policy. We use the conversation only to arrange your booking.
- Usage analytics — with your consent (via the cookie banner) we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. We also record anonymous, first-party event counts (such as page views and button clicks) that contain no personal information.
Cookies
We only set analytics cookies after you choose Accept on the cookie banner. Declining keeps the site fully functional — no tracking cookies are set. Your choice is stored in your browser and you can change it by clearing your browser data for this site.
How long we keep your information
Booking records are kept for as long as needed for bookkeeping and to help with repeat bookings. You can ask us to delete your details at any time (see "Your rights" below).
Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent your personal information. Booking details are shared only with the service providers needed to run your tour (for example, an activity operator such as a shark-diving or skydiving provider, and only what they need). Emails are sent through our email provider; analytics are processed by Google.
Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time. Contact us via WhatsApp or through the contact page and we will respond promptly.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, booking data is stored in a protected database, and access to it is limited to the tour operator.
